KatieSinger has an MFA in Creative Writing and is working towards her doctorate inAmerican Studies at Rutgers University-Newark. Her major field is African-American History where she is focusing onNewark’s history as told by Black Southerners of the Great Migration. Katie was a full time instructor at Fairleigh DickinsonUniversity for the last ten years teaching writing workshops in composition andcreative writing, as well as African-American literature and studies. She has saton panels and given readings at numerous conferences, including the International Conference on the Short Story, mostrecently held in Vienna in the summer of 2014. Her writing consists of short stories, poems, articles andessays; she has published most recently an essay about attending the ShortStory conferences since the year 2000 entitled, “A Seat at the Table” on webdelsol’s online journal, LiteraryExplorer.
